Kainuu Orienteering Week 2023 competition instructions has been released
The competition instructions for Kainuu Orienteering Week 2023 have been published on our website rastiviikko.fi -> 2023 -> Orienteers -> Competition Instructions. The competition instructions will be updated until the start of the event, so follow the website and our communications.
What is completely new this year in orienteering week is that open courses (open orienteering) has two different start areas, in each of the four stages as follows:
Start 5 (open 1):
- for series: Family RR, C-short, C-long, B-short, B-medium
Start 6 (open 2):
- for series: B-long, A-short, A-medium, A-long
With two different start areas, we are able to offer the best possible courses and terrains for each open courses category.
Orienteers in open courses should also note that before moving to the start area, the participant's Emit card information (track/course information) is checked at the start gate along the signposted way to the start area, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the Competition Centre (about 100 m away each day). If at the start gate the participant notices that participant would still like to switch to another track/course, participant must go to the Competition Centre's open courses info to make the switch.
We strongly recommend participants to familiarize with the competition instructions carefully before arriving at the event, so that it is as easy as possible to arrive at the event and enjoy the atmosphere.
Welcome to the magical landscapes and terrains of Kuhmo's Jämäsvaara to enjoy orienteering and holiday!
