KAINUU ORIENTEERING WEEK 2025
EVENT CENTRE
The exact location of the event centre will be announced in the autumn of 2024. The event centre will be located in the Vuokatti area.
Services in the event centre:
- KOW info (competition office, parking tickets, bus tickets, etc., KOW shop)
- Race bus stop
COMPETITION CENTRE (Heikkilä)
The competition centre is located about 10 kilometers south of Sotkamo and 6 kilometers south of Vuokatti. The address is Otrantie 7B, Sotkamo.
In the competition centre, you will find services such as restaurants and cafés, vendors selling orienteering and sports equipment, a kids’ area, a “rasteralli” race, a dog park, and a washing area. The washing area has showers and hot water. Setting up club tents is possible starting on Saturday, June 28th, from 15:00 onwards.
Camping or staying overnight is prohibited in the areas of the competition centre, competition terrain, and event parking lots!

GUIDING
Directions to the competition centre will be provided from Kainuuntie Road (76). The signs will be in place starting on Friday, June 27th, 2025, at 15:00.
TRAFFIC AND PARKING
Parking areas are located about 0.5 to 1.5 kilometers from the competition centre. If necessary, bus transport will be provided from distant parking areas.
Parking tickets
Parking tickets will be checked upon leaving the parking areas. You can purchase tickets at the info desk in the event centre or at the competition centre info desk on competition days, or at the latest, when exiting the parking area (credit cards and cash accepted). To ensure smooth parking arrangements, we recommend purchasing the ticket in advance from the info desk or online.
Parking arrangements will be finalized by autumn 2024, after which we will provide detailed information about the locations and prices of the parking areas on our website.
