The competition invitation for Kainuu Orienteering Week 2025 has been published

The competition invitation for the 57th Kainuu Orienteering Week, to be held next summer in Vuokatti, Sotkamo, has now been published on our website. A shortened version of the competition invitation will also be published in the upcoming Suunnistaja magazine (issue 5/2024), with a release date of October 17.

In the children’s classes H/D8-14, we will return to pre-assigned start times

Due to the coronavirus epidemic, the option to select start times in advance was introduced in 2021 for the children’s categories H/D8-14. Next year, these classes will return to the previous model, where start times for all participants in these classes will be pre-assigned, just like in the elite categories H/D16-21E.

– This change has been requested in our feedback surveys from both our participants and organizers over the past couple of years, to bring back a sense of community to the children’s classes, says Kainuu Orienteering Week's Secretary General, Jukka Liuha. In all other classes, H/D16-95, we will continue with the familiar option of selecting start times in advance, allowing families more flexibility in planning their daily schedules and race-day programs, Liuha adds.
